i was trying to get heat inside the other day and noticed heat really didn't start coming in until i set the knob to almost 80. is there any adjustment to make the temp adjuster a little more accurate?

The markings on the temp control are just numbers, they do not correspond to a temperature setting. Kind of like numbers on a volume control.

Each click on the temperature setting changes the temperature request by about 2 degrees. How hot it feels depends on how hot the coolant is and the interior temperature of the car. If the temperature setting is at 75 degrees you will not get the same heat from the vents if the interior is at 70 degrees as you would if it was at 40 degrees.
