Again, another critic who drove the car, critiqued it but hasn't a clue about what he doesn't know about driving a smart. If you drive it like a manual, it shifts like a manual. Problem solved. It HAS a manual transmission, just reserves control of the clutch. If you let off the gas a little when you want it to shift, it will do the rest for you!
Ya gotta teach these bone heads how to drive an automated manual, before you give them the keys. Educate them on the engineering first, and you would get a whole different review of the smart. They would play with it longer too and might just get it.
They need to be shown how you can get a tumble dryer in the coupe like shown on truth about smart too.
