If you've taken a test drive (highway & city streets) and have felt the transmission and the ride quality, you know how you feel about the two things that tend to top the list of "complaints" from a few smart owners. I, like so many others, don't have a problem with either issue.

I am looking at maybe getting a smarty and was quoted roughly $13,000 for a red passion w/ ac and power windows. Is there anything I should be aware of befroe purchasing? Thanks, mike.
Yep, don't try to go cheap and get a Pure without A/C - you're gonna need it in Alabama as much as we do here in FL. And test drive them and get a feel for the transmission - some folks just can't stand the way they shift.
Good luck!

While A/C is optional on the Pure, when you look in the Configurator under Functional/Electrical options the A/C box is already checked and the $600 is shown added to the base Pure price - smart USA learned its lesson on cars without A/C. You can get one, but you have to make a conscious decision to do it. :)

Congrats! I'm currently on a business trip over here in Birmingham, and I've seen a few smarties on the road. This is a beautiful place! There seems to be a beer rennaissance going on here now the "high-gravity" beers are legalized here, and I'm really enjoying the brew selections everywhere I eat. I have to admit tho--I'm looking forward to getting back to my smart :)
