The iCarsoft MBII is reporting codes 911e and 910c, which the MBII doesn’t recognize. Anyone here know what they are?

The HVAC is throwing a code I don’t recall that is related to N23.

The ABS/triangle dash warning lights are sporadically coming on. There is an occasional code for the brake pedal switch.

And the car won’t downshift using the paddle (it will using the shift lever).

But at least it drives now.

Past experience suggests that when you find the root cause, much of the rest will go away as they're probably being thrown because of errors on the bus.

The brakelight switch seems to be a common failure, so I would probably start testing there, maybe check the reluctor rings while you're at it as that's just a look-see and shouldn't take a lot of effort.

TC, ABS, and shifting can all be affected by issues with a single component on the bus, since it's a shared medium. I had TC and ABS failures due to gummed up shiftmotors. I'm not suggesting that's your problem, but that a problem in one area can disrupt others and cause a cascade of issues.

For starters, have a look at your rear brake reluctors. They are exposed to the elements and a cracked one will throw multiple codes and an intermittent "yellow triangle" indication.

Once you have other codes we can help you out more.

FYI, I have been recently been posting under BiffNotZeem. I have been posting from that account about my gearbox issues from my computer. The SSD on my computer died this morning and when I recover my account here I unintentionally supplied the email address associated with my old account which broke on the old site years ago.

Anyway, these are the codes that I found when I got home after the first drive after replacing the gearbox, clutch, and TCU.

The wheel speed sensor teeth were cleaned out when I have the gearbox out.

The ABS/triangle came on as I returned hone after about 5 miles. I was checking codes and those lights went off, then later came back on.

Something is up with the HVAC. It doesn’t seem to want to go full hot and seems to fluctuate in temp when not in full hot.

This is my wife’s car and I haven’t been paying any attention to it for the last few years as I have been restoring Lotuses and a Lancia. There are probably a bunch of things that have been problems with it for a while.

The other thing that I am looking at is the driver side seat belt. The smart was rear-ended while I was driving it years ago. I noticed some damage to the belt went I undid them to remove the seat and I think the belt was stretched during the accident and probably should have been replaced then.

Should be able to replace the belt through a recycler.

The problem that I have with installing used seat belts is that I work on motorsports rules. We require competitors replace belts every 5 years because the belt material is exposed to UV and becomes less effective. The belts in the smart aren’t subject to the same potential loads as a race car but they usually spend more time in the sun, exposed to more UV.
