Looks good!

I've gotta find a good local place now too - won't be going nearly that dark though. I've found that with metallic tints 35% is perfect for me.

Our state will not let us go that dark want pass inspection. Bummer!!!

Ours neither:D ( not checked on inspection, but hope the cops don't put a light on it).

Ironically, there was a cop in the shop in full uniform waiting to pay the bill for getting his dual cab pickup done in the same 26% tint! Chatted with me about how good the smart looked with the tint. Guess he won't be pulling me over....

Looks awesome, what % is the tint? I know the tint on black makes it look even darker. I have a black dodge ram and love the tint on mine.
You have a very smart looking smart:cool:
Thanks. Its 26% non-metallic carbon. With the big greenhouse on the smart, in daylight it can look lighter than it would on other cars, which should hopefully keep the cops at bay. My silver 300SRT8 has 35% tint and though it does not look as dark, it looks close because of the contrast and the chopped windows.

I luv the look. My concern is visibility. I've seen people rolling down the tinted window a bit in order to see better. Either way, NJ doesn't like tinted windows either. :(

$100. It was the first smart the tinter had seen and the first pattern that their computer service had downloaded. They commented that it took them longer to install due to need to pre-shape than they had though it would be. They used Sun-Tek carbon. Around here, $200-250 for this quality non-metallic tint job for a standard sized car is typical, so this was a good deal. I paid $450 for the top of the line Huper Optik on my 300C.

The 26% tint, though not legal in Mass (35%), is about as dark as the factory tint in the back doors on a typical minivan or quad-cab pickup. Visibility from inside is just fine, including at night. The angle and cloudy day make the windows in the photo look a lot darker.

I'm not so much worried about the guy inside seeing out (although that could be a problem) as I am about seeing through the tint. Nice to see what's on the other side of the car and make eye contact with the driver if needed. Both impossible with that level of tint. Looks good, but too dark for real world driving IMHO. :)

I was quoted $159 by a tinting specialist in Hartford that does an excellent job. He told me it would be less as I only want the 4 side windows tinted.

No harder to see out of than the back seat windows of an SUV or van with this 28% tint. 35% is barely any difference from inside. No issues at night either, but I don;t have to tip the mirror to dim lights from behind.

I found this link on ebay for pre cut window tint for the Smart.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Comp...62QQcategoryZ63689QQihZ012QQitemZ220214970352

Let me know if any of you have used this or how it does.
I personally would not use due to the fact that I want a professional tint job on my smart or any vechicle I own. I for sure am not a professional tinter. Also it state for 2005 -2007 models, there could be a design change on the windows especially from a 450 to a 451 model. This is just MHO, so go ahead and knock your socks off if you are up to the challenge.

A few years ago my company car (SUV) arrived without darkened windows, so they said to get it done myself. I took it to a shop nearby that did all kinds of aftermarket stuff. It was horrible, and the car was damaged. It seemed that they had a guy who "came in a couple of times a week" to do tinting and car stereos.

I'd rather pay top-dollar for a perfect job.
