Hi,

New to this form! Just purchased Smart ForTwo 2013! I plan to do longerish trips with two dogs in the cargo compartment and would like to tow luggage on a back rack. My understanding is I can install a Curt hitch which I plan on doing but does anyone have any thoughts on a good foldable rack as I have seen a few and don't know which will be good with Smart.

Thanks!0:)

Just my opinion but you would probably be better off with a small trailer, or a larger vehicle. I have pulled a small trailer with a rooftop carrier on it and it had a lot of room. You can pick up nice trailers at Harbor Freight and some even have the carriers with them. Just remember you can't load a lot of weight on them as you only got a 3 cylinder light car.

The rear compartment floor gets quite warm due the engine below. You may want to either add extra insulation or build a false floor that has air space below it. Other wise you may end up with "Hot Dogs" after a long trip.
