flashing the upgrade with the 451 cruise control has anyone had this done yet?
Did you have to disconnect the unit put in the jumper or did they do the re-flash with the cruise control in place?
It won't. Slapping a paddle during a turn doesn't switch you to auto. I takes a full 2 seconds holding the paddle to move from manual to auto -- and that can't happen accidentally.I do use the paddles.
Point being, if I am in D, I want to be in D. If I slap a paddle during a turn or such accidentially, I don't want it to leave the mode I am in.
That is different than our '09 as it shifts instantly to manual with a single touch of either paddle. If the upgrade works as you describe (2-sec hold into shift to manual) then I wonder if they can upgrade our '09.
It is an instant switch to manual when you touch either paddle. The 2 second delay is when you switch from manual to automatic again. So it is the same for upgraded 08's and standard 09's.
Oi! That's what I though.oops...read that wrong didn't I... must have been wishful thinking...LOL
I totally agree on this. Got zippy flashed about 3-4 weeks ago and love it more all the time. I hardly ever go into manual mode any more because the car seems to shift more like it would if I were in control. Pretty cool..i really like the performance of the engine/transmission re-flash. the standing idle is a bit lower (1000 rpm), and the car no longer squats and grumbles at the stoplights. on the road the auto shift point from 1>2 now occurs later at about 4000rpm, the auto shift point from 2>3 seems to occur at about 3800rpm. The 3>4 shift point seems to occur at about 3500rpm...and best of all...the 4>5 shift point seems to occur later at around 3800rpm. In other words, the smart is no longer rushing to get into 5th gear on the 35mph surface streets. Overall the new shift points lead to a smoother ride in auto mode: the annoying 1>2 shift lag is all gone...
