Perhaps nobody here on this forum can supply an answer, only conjecture.I'm gonna keep asking this until someone can provide an answer; the batteries in the 09 cars are the same as in the 08s (42 ah), so why aren't the 09s with alarm and/or comfort package getting new batteries? Has smart engineered something on the 09s to stop the battery drain (and if so, why don't they retrofit "it" to the 08s?) Inquiring minds, etc.![]()
Who controls what's in the upgrade program? What do they have to gain by detailing all the little bits and pieces that go into the decisions?
If the '09 with a 42Ah battery and comfort packages have an issue, chances are these will eventually be replaced as well. It may be an issue that the battery won't charge "as well" later in life but is fine for the first many months. Pure conjecture.
And electronics tend to be more expensive than commodity-volume batteries.
