I am posting to each Smart forum I am on. If you own a 2017 453 gas convertible, I URGE you to have the seals in your transmission inspected. I took my car in 2 weeks ago, thinking I had an oil leak. Upon inspection, I was told that there wasn't an oil leak, but 2 of the seals for my transmission were bad. I was told by the dealer, that Smart is aware of this being an issue, but had not put out a recall yet. I was told that no dealer had the parts needed, and they would have to order it from Germany. 2 weeks have gone by, and I am getting frustrated that my needed seals had arrived yet. I called the dealer, again, today and I found out why they haven't arrived yet. The seals I need simply DO NOT EXIST!!! ANYWHERE!!!! I don't know when OR if it even will!!!! This is very POOR planning on Smart, especially if they already know it is a problem!!!

Is this for the 5 speed manual or 6 speed auto/ manual

Just had my first service go over and I also Check under the motor myself quite often and there is no sign of leakage . 453 with 5 speed . I’ll keep my eyes open though each time I crawl under the back .
