What year is your smart? As far as I know there is no requirement from the factory to replace the transaxle fluid for the 2008-2015 North American smarts.
Your 2008 to 2015 transmission is based on gear oil and as such does not require a fluid replacement. It won't hurt the car if you did, you may even keep the transmission a little cleaner over the years and high mileage situations if you do. But the gear oil is not stressed in any significant way to require a fluid change interval. I pushed a smart 451 over 200k without any issue with the smart's transmission.
Here’s the gear oil I used. Recommend by our smart car, service manager. I changed mine around 60K miles. No harm in changing it. Not that expensive. Pretty easy to do.
