Get the transmission fluid changed have the gears inspected if there are any internal belts or chains have them inspectedServiced as in a new clutch? Fluid changed? Rebuilt? Year? Model?
Any competent mechanic should be able to do this, easy enough to do at home too if you're mechanically inclined.Get the transmission fluid changed have the gears inspected if there are any internal belts or chains have them inspected
Sure changing he fluid and replacing the seal is easy but I would like them to make sure everything is in good working orderAny competent mechanic should be able to do this, easy enough to do at home too if you're mechanically inclined.
Having worked on a few transmissions, you can usually judge pretty well the condition by the fluid that comes out, if you see a large number of metal flakes you might have an issue, but even a little glitter isn't abnormal. Unless you have had an incident which is expected to have caused damage, such as operating with the wrong/no fluid, introduction of debris, etc, there is unlikey to be any significant issue; transmissions like these are relatively simple and reliable. They are sold as sealed units with the fluid intended to serve for the "lifetime" of the transmission; I personally think it good to change it every decade/100k miles, but I would not spend the money or effort to open it up for an inspection unless there was a very good reason to.Sure changing he fluid and replacing the seal is easy but I would like them to make sure everything is in good working order

It being a sample of oil, not the transmission. You mail it in.
Thanks! It does say "Manual Gearbox Fluid Change." I have an automatic. I'm not sure this would apply. But, thanks! There is a subscription fee, but it’s worth it. It’ll save you some $ on that oil change. I don’t have a 453, but I would buy an oil from the dealer.
Did our 09 at 85,000, stills looked pretty good nice and clear , but just the same i happy I did so .Having worked on a few transmissions, you can usually judge pretty well the condition by the fluid that comes out, if you see a large number of metal flakes you might have an issue, but even a little glitter isn't abnormal. Any particular reason you are concerned about the transmission?
