With sales of the Soul hitting new records, it looks like Kia may capitalize on the momentum, at least according to this report/rumor:

Kia Soul to get turbo four-cylinder, AWD? | New and Used Car Reviews, Research & Automotive-Industry News & LeftLaneNews

"Whereas the Soul's existing, naturally-aspirated 1.6- and 2.0-liter motors produce 130 and 164 horsepower, respectively, the turbo engine would likely be good for the same 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque that it makes under the hood of the Forte Koup SX Turbo.

A handful of other upgrades would likely accompany the more potent mill, including a stiffened suspension and upsized brakes. A choice of six-speed manual and automatic gearboxes could be offered.

In addition to the turbocharged model, Kia is also said to be considering a traction-enhancing all-wheel-drive option that would let the Soul match up against small crossovers..."

They probably doing that cause the new Renegade, will have AWD, and use the turbo Abarth engine. There lots of Souls that roam Colorado. The 500X AWD will be introduce to next year. Make sense, to follow that path.

I curious about the EV version coming out.
