I just thought you all might like to see this. I log my MPG every time I fill. I missed a couple but I have most of them. My lowest MPG was 29.6 and My Highest was 44.2. I'm averaging 35 miles to the Gallon. The last Field is the MPG, sorry about the formatting. As you can see I usually wait to the last drop to fill up. Also check out the gas prices, from $1.98 to $3.85 all premium. This is a 2008 Smart Fortwo Passion.

Very nice! You should import those into Fuelly. To do so, you can view your car (once you have created one) and click on "view all fuel ups". Near the bottom of the page there is a link that says "import from a .csv". If you keep these fuel ups in Excel or something you can format it according to their CSV guidelines and then save it as a .csv file and upload it to Fuelly. That way you can share these #'s with the world and compare to other cars.

FYI I get similar mileage to you on average, with a commute that includes 1/2 hour driving across San Francisco and 1/2 hour freeway. You can see the format details here: http://www.fuelly.com/csv-format.gas

Long time, no see! :) How have things been? I've got my fill-ups recorded on Fuelly as well.

By the way, I moved this thread to the Fuel Economy section...

I use spritmonitor.de. Not as colourful as fuelly but lots of European smarts on the site to compare to. Can be used in MPG but most use litres per 100 kilometres.

I only see 14 months. :p

And, here's another vote for fuelly.

I keep my records in an Excel spreadsheet. A few months back I started keeping track of data from my GPS: Moving time, maximum speed, average speed, etc. Oh, and I've missed a couple tanks too. And, for one tank I wrote down ALL the data EXCEPT price, gallons and cost. :(

If I lived in a warmer climate I bet I could average 44mpg, but with annual temperature swings over 100 degrees, its hard to keep a constant MPG. In the winter I average 34...in the summer 43.

yea, it nice here and I only had a few fillups so far but they are getting a bit better wait till summer :(
Actually I would assume the summer for you would be just like the summer for us in AZ. With the AC going, I would assume you are not going to do as well, unless you are willing to go without. With the AC on I was only getting 42MPG.

Fuelly is great to share with others... But if you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, you should try "Road Trip". It is very similar to Fuelly on how it is presented... And you can export all the fuel ups and import them into fuelly later...

49.2 avg mpg

My 12 month average MPG is 49.2, driving mostly local to highway commutes to work, and the occasional travel around town. Sometimes the average is around 54 and others in the low 40s, I guess it just depends on how I am driving and the conditions I am driving in.

I been averaging 35 lately since my driving is in town mostly and even it being colder outside, now in the warmer months it gets better. At one time i was getting a little more, but i can deal with the 35 since my last car was only getting 21 at best in town.

Wish i had seen this when i first got the car, it is a great way to track milage.
