Hi all.. I'm new to the group, and although I have a small bit of knowledge with cars im looking for some advice please.. I have a citroen Nemo running on 185/65/15 and in need of 2 front tyres, I have found some 185/60/15 and would like to know if it's ok to put them on ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.. thanks..

In addition to 185/65R15 tyres, the Citroen Nemo was also fitted with 175/70R14 tyres on some models. You can fit 185/60R15 if you want, because they fit the 6Jx15 ET44 rims and have the same load index (84 or 88 depending on whether non-XL or XL) as 175/70R14 tyres and have the same outside diameter as 175/70R14 tyres which keeps the gearing the same as 175/70R14 tyres. However, 185/60R15 tyres do have a slightly smaller outside diameter than 185/65R15 tyres, so lowers the gearing slightly compared to that size. Use the same tyre pressures that you would with 175/70R14 tyres. If you are going to pump them up to more than 39psi, then you will probably want to use XL tyres as these cope with tyre pressures up to 51psi. 185/65R15 is better for ride comfort than the lower sidewalled 185/60R15 tyres. If the van came with XL tyres as standard, then you will probably want to stick with XL tyres whatever tyre pressures you are going to use. My own preference, would be to stick with 185/65R15 tyres for the improved ride comfort.
