I have a used Brabus exhaust off of my 2009 smart. I took it off at 48,750 miles. The reason I took it off was due to the flex pipe failing. I believe it would be an easy fix to weld a new flex pipe on and have a Brabus exhaust for a fraction of the price. They are around $1,299 new.

I would like $400 plus shipping OBO.

Was $375

Now $350 plus shipping.

I cleaned it up very quickly. It will clean up better with more elbow grease and neverdull.

Flexible exhaust repair

I used to be a specialist and supplier for Daimler SP250 sports cars which had dual pipes, each with flexible sections. Those original parts used woven steel tubes, which rusted and had limited life. I bought rhe right size stainless steel flexible tubing from JC Whitney, and cut it to proper length. Then I'd braze it to the original pipe using oxy/acetylene welding gear. The key thing was to use good flux and clean-clean-clean the old parts!

I find stainless flex sections readily available for less money than mentioned. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=flexible+exhaust+pipe&ref=nb_sb_noss_1.

Sounds like a less than $25 repair for the handy types.

Good luck, Bob in KCMO
