Hello, Hope you all can be of help and that I’m not violating any forum rules by posting a wanted ad! I am moving back to the US after 6 years in the Netherlands and am desperate to buy a Smart for my return home. I’ll be in the country as of the end of this month and have just started my search in hopes of finding something for my July 23ish arrival.

Wishlist:
2016 or 2017 Smart 453 (gas not electric)
Coupe
Prime Trim (Heated Seats and Pan. Roof are a must)
Manual Transmission
Exterior color is not an issue, any will do (there’s always the option to wrap)
Interior preference is for solid color or tonal, please no Orange + Black combination.
Location is not really an issue, I’ll be moving to Seattle and have family in New England, Florida, and Utah, otherwise can ship or make a road trip out of it.

And before anyone states the obvious, yes, I have reached out to a transportation company to get advice on if I was to buy a smart here in NL and ship to the US. Haven’t heard back yet, so hedging my bets by posting this. If anyone has imported to the US, would love any and all insight and advice on that topic too!

Yeah, that is why this combo will be so hard to find. High spec interior with a manual. A hard combo to find on any used car these days, but going to be super hard to find on a low numbers smart. It would be my choice as well if I were looking for an ICE Smart.

Thanks, but yea, I did the work before posting here. Obviously new stuff will pop up and I’ll keep checking, but am asking in case there’s the slim chance that someone saw one on the side of the road for sale or that they’re considering selling their’s and hadn’t pulled the trigger yet.

like I said, I have seen 2 since February. I should have bought the first one I saw as it was a 2017 with 20k miles for $12,000…but this was before the used car sales market went haywire.

Can’t say how many times I’ve got my hopes up with a car listed as manual only to confirm via picture and with a phone call that it’s actually an automatic. @Bean0709 I’m sure you feel the same way!!

For anyone else who’s looking but not picky about the sunroof and heated seats, there is this one with only 1,038 miles! It must be a passion not pure, as it still has the cargo box in the tailgate? I’m new to this so no need to roast if I’m wrong in my assumption.

That black one with 1k miles is nice but I have always heard that low, low miles can be a negative as it has hardly been driven and just sat. Thoughts anyone??

I might be concerned if it were 10+ years old and barely driven. I think a 2-3 year old car won't suffer much, might need a new battery (and tyres may have flat spots) if it has sat for 6+months without being turned on, but overall that wouldn't worry me.

Apparently the used car market is a bit crazy right now. I had no idea and hadn’t been following it until a few weeks ago when I found out I was moving and needed to buy a car. Annoying!

It for sure is crazy! I actually bought a 2016 Silver/black manual passion with 40k miles in February 2021 for $6900!! I gave this car to my wifey and now I am looking for another but with some options.
Does anyone know if the 2017 Passion comes with the LED headlights as a standard option or are those only equipped on Prime and Proxy?

My 2017 is an ED with Passion trim, so ICE could be different, but I just have halogen. Personally, I'm surprised they wouldn't automatically LED everything on an electric, but I guess saving a few cents was important.
