The roof is a plastic similar to Lexan and the A pillars are steel coated with powder paint. No reason they can't be painted as well as the scoop and fuel door. Just be aware that they are different material and may need different paint to stick to them.
Another alternative would be to use a vinyl wrap to cover them, then you could always remove the wrap if you did not like the outcome. I redid my solid roof on my Pure from the textured finish that had started to peel, to a carbon fiber type of wrap and it turned out nice! it had a neat pattern in direct sunlight that would have been impossible to duplicate with paint.
I have never had the scoop off before, but you may have to remove the fender to get it off. The fender comes off with the rear panel and other fender as one piece. Not hard but it just takes you to set your mins to the fact that it can be done. Always a little scary at first but I took the back off my 2009 to replace the exhaust. Made the job lots easier and took about 10 min to put back in place once I had it figured out. Evilution is your friend. Great pictures that show where all the screws are located and such.
