On my Smart 453 ED there is a two gauge instrument stalk to the left of the steering wheel. The top gauge has a needle that shows power use and regen when slowing or braking, above that gauge is a series of lit orange dashes that arc over the top. Usually the orange dashes are fully lit in all circumstances until our recent cold snap. When temps dropped below freezing I noticed that at least the left two orange dashes were not lit. They came back on as I drove the car more and the performance seems fine. Just curious what those orange dashes represent? I'm assuming it has something to do with the battery but exactly what I don't know.

as per the owners manual:

"The LED ring in power display shows the power output available."

I'm guessing because of the colder temperatures, the batteries aren't able to put out peak power, and as you're driving, the system is warming up, hence why more bars are lighting up.
