We all have different reasons why we wanted it. But what is the one thing you like the most about the car? The one thing that made you choose it over all the other possible choices you were looking at. Share with everyone here what it was since I know there will be a lot of different answers to this one.

The fact that it's a real car, but packaged into such a tiny size. But more than that, the engineers and designers didn't just squash a larger car, they had some neat ideas along with it.

The plastic panels are still a winner in my book. When panel availability was good, it meant changing your colors on the fly or a quick repair after minor damage. And of course, they don't rust. Then you have the interior, which maximizes space without any weird tricks. And in Smart style, it's far from boring in there.

I also like how the drivetrain is contained more or less in a cradle out back, driving the rear wheels. And of course, the safety cell and how a part of its outer shell is used as a part of the aesthetic.

In a world where few automakers go outside of the box, Smart was actively different.

Ever since I saw my first smart car, I've wanted one because it's different. It is not the same micro car design everyone else has, the smart car has personality! You can do damn near anything you want, from simply changing the panels to lifting, the possibilities are almost limitless.

When I was shopping for a brand new car in 2008. I looked at BMW mini, honda civic, toyota iq. Smart
had the best equiped, best mileage, lowest price. The toyota came close, but all the items that were standard on
the smart, were extra cost options on the toyota. With the same options the toyota priced HIGHER than smart.
Plus I DID NOT like the goofy cent-of-dash instrument cluster on the iq.After buying the car I discovered what
fun to drive, and the trust I can put in the stability programming. I have NO worries about passing a semi in
pouring rain at 80mph!! And the one time that a hit a puddle big enough to make the smart hydroplane, the smart corrected the slide/spin faster than I could. Amoung its other good points, as I get older, the EASE to enter/
exit the car is VERY important. (i'm 79). I liked everything about the 453, when they went on sale, but I will
NEVER buy a car with a turbo on the engine!! Looks like I am driving my 2013 passion until I die, total wreck,
or can't find ANY repair parts.................................

I liked it because it was a unique niche car. To me it's the VW bug of the 2000's. All the other "perks" listed above I came to like once I owned it. Liked it so much I now have three of them.

I have often said it's a modern interpretation of the VW Beetle and does a better job of being that than Volkswagen did with their redesign which really abandoned everything except the overall silhouette

I enjoy the novelty of such a tiny car. My past includes lots of very small cars, such as Honda 600 coupes, MG midgets, and Fiat 850 Spiders. The 451 is fun to drive and comfortable to be in (ice cold A/C!). Pedal mapping made the trans shift like a proper automatic, the Solo side exhaust gives it an aggressive sound, and 4 rear wheels with 195/50 tires give a nice ride and really grip the road. I like to call the smart my micro sports coupe!

I love the fuel economy! I bought my Smart a number of years ago after spending $490 on gas for a single vehicle (a mini van). The monthly cost of the car and the fuel it consumed was less than the cost of o my the fuel for the van.

It’s fun to drive, the community is packed with great people, and always gets smiles and laughs, especially from kids!

We enjoy the cars because they are just fun to drive . Regardless of the weird sluggish shift on our 2009 Prime and 2015 Brabus or the snappy 453 Lorinser 3 pedal manual 5 speed . The turning radius of the 453 is particularly incredible, and any of the three draw more eyeballs for a look among all the current production cars sharing the road with us .. that’s cool .

For me, it was not only the uniqueness but it's fun to drive! I've owned three and them so each time I trade out our lose one, I wanted another one. Plus it rear wheel drive. I'm not into micro cars but I do love Smart cars no matter what other people think.

I love when ignorant people call it a dumb car. Who's the dummy driving a 4x4 that gets 12mpg? I go offroading, park in cart corrals and park next to roadside oddities!

So originally for myself the missus wanted a second car as she quite liked having the car available when I was in Iraq, so when I came back she mentioned getting a smart car, our other car is a 2015 Toyota yaris (vitz/echo) hybrid. But the smart doesn't have power steering and she finds it awkward to reverse park, so we swapped I took the smart cabrio and I actually really like it!

So fun to drive it reminds me of my 94 import mx5, the smart isn't in anyway fast but its a very fun car to drive.

Hopefully I'll be able get away with a few mods soon.
