You should expect to pay what ever the list price of the car is at the time of delivery. smartusa insists on that, as the dealer is getting a fair profit on the car. You will probably get a 2009 which will probably be slightly more expensive than a 2008. There will also be a delivery charge added, as with all brands of new cars. The smarts delivery charge has been $675 but might rise with oil prices. There will also be a dealer prep charge, usually in the $99 to $150 range, and of course the usual state license and sales tax. The 20-24K cars advertised in LA are probably the older 450 model cars that were converted in Santa Ana and did not sell before the 451's arrived. Buyer be ware!
