Hi, a new 2008 newbie noticed a dot at the bottom of vent dial. Looks like a pilot light but had never seen it light up. Any idea what it is for?

Thanks

Actually, that is your temp sensor for the inside temp.

When you set your right slider to X degrees, it senses when the temp has reached that setting and modulates your heating/cooling to keep it at that temp.

Hey NCC1701, can't be a "motion sensor" as some of our fellow owners are near motionless especially when napping?

Just as long as it is not a surveillance device for NSA . . .
