When I am driving the car seems to lose power. If I take my foot off the accelerator and then press on it the power seems to get back to normal. I have to do this while driving or the car will just slow down. I have a 2014 four two smart car. Thank you for your help. Ginny

Years ago, I had a 73 Monte that was doing something like that. I had just overhauled the carb (huge 4-bbl) so maybe it was my under the tree mechanics fault, and had him re-do it for second $50. It didn't work, so I had it sent to Firestone where the 'real' mechanic said it was the 'fool pump' and sure enough, that was the problem. Now I know our smarts are much different from those exotic Landaus but maybe there's an answer in my story. Good luck!
Thank you
