I am eager to get in a road trip soon. Living in NYC I tend not venture to far from home in the winter. Stay within 5 hours of home. But I am so eager to get in a long road trip I am tempted to drive down to the Daytona 500.

I intend to make a few extended road trips this spring. No nailed down destinations yet I just want to get in the car and go.

Where are you planning to road trip your Smart this year ?

I want to get back to doing Smart rallies. I think the last one that I went to was Dubuque in 2017. Life has since been either crazy busy or my car(s) broken.

Finally, I have some time, working cars, and I'm eager to see Smart owners in real life again. Maybe I'll make it out to the current version of OTD this year! And since it's been years since I last lived with my parents, no third wheel. lol

Maybe St. Louis and park under the Arch. Some random tourist traps would be in order too! The World's Largest Ball of Twine and Muskie are done for me.
I know I want to get my Smart out to ACE Body and Motor in Iowa for a gear box review, I could drop down through St Louis on the way back.

It would be fun to see you at this year's Dragon, or now it's called "Mountain Madness"! The group size varies, but definitely not on the scale of the old Outsmarting the Dragon events. But considering most other events have fizzled, it's excellent! Mountain Madness is being managed through Facebook, look up the Southern Smarts.

OTD stands for Outsmarting the Dragon. The name has changed, but the basic idea is to drive on the Tail of the Dragon in North Carolina/Tennessee. It's a very twisty curvy road that is an absolute blast to drive fast! (provided there isn't a bunch of other people in front trying to do the same thing) Smart cars do REALLY WELL on the road, contrary to popular opinions from others at the beginning of the drive. Look up on Facebook Southern Smarts and you'll find all kinds of information on it.

Max, our 14 BoConcept cabriolet is getting ready for his annual "Pull around the NorthEast" trip. Attached to our sprinter based motorhome for the summer. He then gets to drive around from campgrounds to bike riding trail heads and local eating establishments.
