You know, Ihoboy, I noticed that, too, but attributed it to the sometimes screwy way this site works. One time I posted on one thread and it immediately wound up on another. I thought I simply screwed up....

Smart,
Why the lock down on the Smart Vehicle Crash thread?
Presumably ......

Lets just wait for the official smart crash tests to come out here in America from the America n testing groups.
I don't know about the verdict of the yellow car on the trailer. Still could be a Smart, and afterall - isn't the Noble just into initial production, or is it that its just now being exported?

If I remember correctly, that happened to you the same day the server clock set back to 2000 and put our posts at the tops of the threads.

Well since you insist, I conducted further research. The yellow car is in fact not a Noble, but a different Chinese rip-off manufactured by a company called CMEC, and named with immense originality the Electric City Smart. An excellent article from Edmunds is linked here: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=117145. Additional information can be found on one of SCoA's own websites: http://thesmartcars.com/2007fortwo.php.

Note that this copycat predates the Noble by almost a year, and some examples actaully made it as far as the UK. The lights, grill, door handle and mirror all give it away (and if you mess with the yellow crash car in Photoshop, you can even see that the wheel hub has five lugs).

And if you still think it's a real smart, I've got a Rolex watch I'd like to sell you. :)

Conspiracy Theory

Smart,
Why the lock down on the Smart Vehicle Crash thread?
Well here's a theory: the original post on that thread, in its entirety, including words and misattributed pictures, are actually a direct cut and paste from one of Smart Car of America's own pages: http://www.smartdealerships.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=26&Itemid=5

So maybe the reason for the lock down was embarrassment.

I have long wondered exactly what the relationship is between Smart Car of America and the user SmartAmerica. Perhaps they're one and the same?

Returning to the warm embrace of the grassy knoll now....

Other differences, too.

Good work, again, Micronut! If you keep moving back and forth from picture to picture, fixating on certain features, they become apparent. Like the wipers on the real Smart work in opposition to each other rather than the imposter's which work parallel to each other. And yes, the mirrors are clearly different as well as the grill and the door handles and lights that were mentioned. The important part that we can't see is, ofcourse, the tridion cell or lack of one thereof.....Sheesh....takes all kinds!

If that's the case why not just delete the whole thread, say it never happened and blame it all on the clock malfunction. But then the grassy knoll would get too crowded.:D
