Wonky Head Unit

So this past Thursday I decided to insert a CD into my Head unit. I have the unit with a touch screen and all that Jazz... I have done this before in the past while hearing a dreadful noise as I inserted the disk and removed it. Well This time the CD appears to be stuck and the screen will not close...
Has this happened to anyone before? I took it to the a Mercedes Dealership that works on Smart cars and they said they have to order a whole new head unit!!! I only have 4,500 miles on it... So it is under warranty, but still crazy. I just want my CD back :crying:!!! I normally would have removed it and taken it apart, but I want to use this warranty work as much as I can.

I am just curious to see if I am alone in this situation.

Early failures happen, one reason why there is warranty, no manufacturing process is perfect. If you are a sky is falling person, I do not think many if any others have experienced similar problems on this site. This may be incentive to convert your CDs to digital and put them on a USB stick to play in the car.

I already have them on one of my hard drives somewhere. I just found the CD and figured why not listen to it. Unfortunate decision on my part lol.I was just curious to see if I was the only one here that it has happened to. Glad to see it is that way. I'm used to it. Anything and everything I get always has some sort of issue. Murphy's law for me.
