Hey all, to make a long story short, my smart car keys are missing and it needs to be towed. The car is locked so we can't even get in it to put it in neutral. I don't think the towing alarm is activated. It's been so long, I don't remember. Thoughts?

I would say you are in a tough situation. I wonder if a dealer could get some sort of key code from the factory to at least get you in the door. You may end up changing out the SAM unit to get the car to run again (??) I guess I would suggest talikng to SOS to see if they have any ideas.

How about a locksmith to at least get you inside? AAA provides that service, towing too. Might pay to join for a year?

Thank you all for the responses. I'm pleased to report the key has been found!

We never replaced the first lost key because we live on a small island up in Alaska. The nearest dealer is in Seattle 800+ miles by barge $$$$ to get the car back and forth to dealer.

I will be contacting SOS about their services.

My wife lost one of the keys for my 2009. When she found out how much a replacement would cost, it got 'found' real fast!
