Hello,

I’ve looked all around for information on if this setup would work for my 2009 Smart...I’ve done all the bolt ons possible and want to turbo it.

Is it worth spending the money to go this route, or the 4K for the turbo setup from @SmartMadness ?

I’m obviously new to these cars, and am just trying to gain understanding from someone with first hand experience. Is that yourself? Have you added a turbo to your smart?

That's for the EU 451 rated at 84 hp. Not going to be a direct bolt on for a non-turbo US 451, plus you'll need to sort out all the things jet mentioned. Lots of homework involved....

Personally myself. I wouldn’t spend a lot of money performance wise, on a 2009 smart car. The turbo upgrade would cost more then you cars current resale value. If you really want a turbo smart, invest in a newer 453. Lots of used ones on the market. No Mickey Mouse, added system. Without customer support, on installation software upgrades, and maintance. If you want that, smart Madness is the way to go. I just wouldn’t spend $4k, on a 11 year old car.

Looks like I’ll be keeping her as is, and buying a turboed Abarth as well. Won’t sell my lil 451. Y’all have a great day!

Very nice 451! If, in the future, you desire a turbo smart look for a 453 as mentioned above. Considerable difference in the motors and the 453 responds remarkably well to the addition of power modules. Lots you can do to tires, wheels and springs to make a 453 into a well handling and performing smart.
