I want to get my white 2013 Pure wrapped instead of painted. Has anyone out there done this? If so, how did it go? How much is a decent price?
Back in 2011 & 2012 when I had my 08 smart cabrio.
I belonged to the now defunct Sin City smarts here in Las Vegas. A few of the members had wraps on their cars. Back then the cost was around $1500 or about the same cost as a full panel change.
One problem that happens is that, if you have a very personalized wrap, (think hello kitty, Betty boop and any sports team) selling that car without removing the wrap is almost impossible.
I saw it happen within our group. The owners couldn't understand why their wrapped cars weren't selling. They thought their cars were sooooo cute.
1. Selling a used smart is hard enough. The potential buyer base is very small.
2. Limiting a miniscule buyer base with a personalized wrap shrinks the potential buyer base even more to almost non existent.
3. The plus of a wrap over paint is that it can be removed and the paint underneath is protected.

Good Luck and don't forget to post before and after pictures.

Three examples: 2 wraps and one standard color. Guess which ones will sell first.

I wasn't thinking about getting crazy and doing it in Packer Green and Gold, with the logo... I just don't like white cars. I was thinking about matte black or midnight blue. Seems pretty spendy. I only paid 5k for the car with 10k miles. I would leave the silver part silver and cover the rest.

Thanks for the before picture.
I like the white and silver.
I agree with most everyone so far. I don't like the black wheel cover's.

You guys are killing me. The silver rims looked cheap to me so I got covers. It was a huge debate in my head to go with silver or black. I even used Photoshop to see how they would look. My 15 year old son cast the deciding vote...

The silver covers from smart are plastic and I painted mine black to match the black panels on my old Pure. it made the car look so much better than the silver steel rims alone. You could go with the Plasti-dip and change the color to see what looks good. If it doesn't look right, peel it off and try another.
