hi all,
I'm desperate.

Check engine light came on, haven't been hearing secondary air pump come on.
Pulled p0410 Code
Cleared codes
p0410 came on next day
Did lots of research here and replaced change over valve with new part #a0025407097
Still threw p0410 code
Found 50amp fuse for secondary air pump was blown..replaced it

Cold started now and it blew the 50 amp fuse again.

I'm guessing the air pump is bad? Maybe clogged line somewhere? Is there anything else that would be blowing that fuse when it tries to kick on the pump?

Stupid smart car!!!
Thanks! ;)

Welcome to SCoA! :)

It's a pretty basic setup:

1 Cylinder head
2 Combination valve
3 Air hose
4 Vacuum hose
M33 Secondary air injection pump
Y32 Secondary air injection pump switchover
valve

Might be the pump itself is failing and that's blowing the fuse, or there's a short in the wiring to the pump....

PS - you didn't mention the year and mileage of your car. Even it is out of the factory warranty, the air pump and associated bits may still be covered by the emissions control system warranty - worth checking on. :)

My 2008 is doing the same thing the 3rd air pump is now running then blowing the fuse so I pulled the air pump and decided to pull the combination valve and sure enough I was able to blow air through it, it was not sealing when vacuum was taken away so all the exhaust was blowing into the air pump and destroying them
