So I searched and found out that the MD194136 PCV valve seems to be a substitute for the original 1320180029 part number. I say that since looking at some ads for 1320180029 show the MD194136 as what you will be getting. Then searching the MD194136 part number which seems to also be expensive and not easy to source I got the 1220410030 which seems to be related. With the 1220410030 part number I got into different Toyota models that use it and saw the Wells WVE 6P1196 which was a nice red color was an equivalent. So to me the inexpensive WVE 6P1196 might be a substitute for the expensive and hard to source 1320180029.

Also has anyone tried the AliExpress 1320180029 part which is black and grey and clearly not OEM.

Thank you very much for the link. I think I will go that route and get the newer plate, PCV valve and hose. Seems like Mercedes reworked the parts and made them better.

I have the lowering bolts so I would have even more room than he did. That aside it still will not be fun. I don't have any smoke or issues with my PCV valve but I think I would rather swap it out in advance. I have 115Km on the car now. At the very least I should have the parts on hand so if the dreaded blue smoke appears I can swap it out then.

Believe, I know it seems odd since in other cars with a failed PCV valve it usually does not burn so much oil that it is so easily visible. I have seen several examples of a failed PCV valve on a Smart car and the excessive burning of oil that is seen at the exhaust.

That is why I want to have the parts ready to either deal with it when it happens or be proactive and switch out the part soon.

I will have to do some more research to see roughly on average when in milage a smart car the PCV valves fail.

So a follow up, from the parts list in the video above you can no longer buy the 132-016-01-81 Vent Hose. You would have to get a used one from a parts yard.

I guess you could just use regular tubing but I would be concerned without the preset bends in the right place that the hose rubs or melts on something hot.

So now I guess I will go back to just getting the PCV valve.
