If you go to repair shop that knows you car, they will be able to give you a set quote for most things.

If I'm going to a shop that doesn't know the car then I do my research. For example, I will give the alignment shop the alignment specification and discuss with them what I want. Provided that they can handle the narrow track on their alignment equipment.

I've heard of a few good shops in the Bay Area that can work on smarts. This is important because they don't have to learn on your car. A lot of the systems have to be calibrated by computer so they work optimally like your clutch system. Takes a few minutes and is very cool to watch.
Hi. Would you please share the few good bay Area shops that work on Smarts? Need to get some quotes for a leaky hose buried deep. Need to drop the engine frame to get to it and change all 3 hoses and replace thermostat unit. I will check with Pete's tomorrow but they will be expensive! Thanks in advance.
