Wow really hard to find info on internet about these cars. I am looking for Refrigerant amount for a complete recharge on a 451. Someone posted 458G or 1.4 lbs. for the 450 but I found different #'s on another site?? I also found the capacity for a/c oil, which is listed as PAG/ PAO68, as being 420 g or 14.815 oz.'s. This info was from BEHR Hella service chart. They also listed the 451 refrigerant capacity as 0 = unknown. They did have the refrigerant capacities for the 450 as being 180 ml's & the 454 roadster as 100 ml's. Far different from the first #'s I found? Anyone have an answer for the 451 refrigerant amount?

The 451 system holds 420g of refrigerant.. not oil. I don't think you want to fill it with oil completely. Unless you replaced a component, or blew a line, I wouldn't worry about the oil. If you are adding R134A, you can put too much in and make things worse. Might be better off to take it in and have it filled.

Jimv57 is correct - adding too much coolant will quickly kill your compressor and, in many cases, metal particles will get into the evaporator and condenser and can’t easily be flushed, necessitating replacement of all the parts in the system. I just went through this with my daughter’s Pontiac Vibe.
The system should be completely evacuated under vacuum and kept under hard vacuum for at least an hour. More if it’s been opened and there is moisture in the system. Adding the correct about is critical.
451.3 takes 430g

I believe there is a sticker under the front hood with capacity on it, or it is in the back. (suffering with CRS syndrome)
