Both of the photos show one thing, The car doesn't fit Inside the bed. The first one a part of the load is on the tailgate, and the second one is using the bumper. Both are 450's and are shorter than the 451's most of us here in the US have.

This is a really big pickup which I was parked next to, but the bed still isn't long enough to handle the smart!

Good Lord, I'm not big on all that touchy feely carbon footprint stuff, but what in the world would that thing be used for????

All of the photos are showing the stardard 6" bed, an extended bed would work a lot better with only a few inches hanging out the end.

Fits in an F350 long bed (8')

A 451 will fit in a long bed longways. Sideways with wheel well blocks. It will fit with both wheels over the bed proper (not on the tailgate or bumper). Lens foreshortening makes the Smart appear longer than it realy is. The rear end will stick out a bit: you can't shut the tailgate.

Way off topic, but . . .

Funny story - I'm reminded of a time years ago when a close friend of mine went to a garden supply store to pick up some gravel in his 1/2-ton Chevy PU. The loader operator puts in one pretty good sized scoop in the bed. My buddy eye-balled it and says "add another one." So in goes another scoop of gravel. My buddy eyeballs it again and says "one more, please." And the guy complies with the request. By then the truck is really hunkered down and gravel is mounded up over the bed rails.
My buddy starts for home about 5 miles away. After the first mile, he has second thoughts and pulls in to a gas station and adds air to the tires. The truck is still squatting pretty hard but he starts for home again. After another mile or so he stops again - looks it over again - eyeballs it again- and then start scooping the gravel off onto the side of the road. He unloads about 1/3 of it and finally makes it all the way home. He related this story to me when I came down to help him unload.
We later did the same thing but went by a scale with only one scoop in the rear of the truck. Turns out the one scoop weighed something around 1500 lbs.!!! So his original load was about 4500 lbs of gravel.
Most every time we passed the pile along side the road that he'd left, I'd ask him if he wanted to stop and pick it up. . . and surprisingly enough it aways got a smile from him . . . !

My understanding is that these custom Kenworth pickups are often seen around Lake Havasu in Arizona hauling around million $+ boat/trailer combinations. This from a friend who keeps his boat there. I think the Kenworth runs in the $350K-$500K range.

My father ran a tractor trailer company with several units.....

Their Peterbuilt with all sorts of bells and whistles was $140,000..... of course this is a tractor unit and didn't have a bed (but it had TV's, a bunk bed, and alsorts

You'd have to be mental to pay that sort of money a pickup truck.....
