What type of dog seat works for our seats?

Every type I see pictured has straps that go around the metal bars that hold the adjustable head rest. Our babies don't have that seat design.

Anybody had success with a reasonably priced dog car seat? It will be for a chiweenie:

I don’t want her, to look out the window height. If there were a accident, the airbag employed on passenger side. It would kill her. Our other larger dogs, can sit up and see out. One of them, rest her head. On the panel self, under the glove box.

The little Chihuahua can put her feet up, and look out. But sitting down no.

I don't believe the weight of a Chihuahua will activate passenger side airbag.

On my Buick the weight is 65lbs. or more to activate the passenger side airbag.
I use a bungee cord attached to Evelyn's harness and the roll bar, If there is a sudden stop she doesn't have a sudden jolt at the end of a leash. She travels better if she can see out.

I hadn't thought about the air bag, but I don't think Alice weighs enough to trigger it. She's only 11-12 pounds.

I think most of the seats I've looked at had a leash attachment. I wouldn't trust Alice to stay in the seat without one.

Thanks for the recommendation. Apparently the straps that go around those metal legs work for our seats too!

I have a booster seat for my dog called a FidoRido that I ordered on Amazon a few years ago. It attaches with the seatbelt and does not have the straps that need the separate head rest. I also have a Chihuahua that weighs between 10 and 11 pounds and with her and the weight of the booster seat, the airbag still stays off.

They do look alike! I also got Alice at 2. The couple who had her were living on Eglin Air Force base with a toddler, and Alice kept getting out. They couldn't handle it, so I got lucky. So sorry you lost Fifi at a relatively young age. Alice is 13 and still struts like a teenager. I hope she has many more quality years.

It's less of an issue now, but I wanted to remove the pass seat and bolt in a custom travel kennel. I really didn't like driving around with either the great dane or the saint bernard due to fear of accidents.
Dogs tend to be my only passengers anyhow. :p
