Wow, great! I’m uploading my ecus.zip file as well in case someone needs it.

Alright, let’s go. In the Action window, click on "Développement" (which is the French word for "Development" and not a typo). Under Development, you will see the last item called "Sauvegarde EEPROM" click on this. You should now see all the configuration
parameters loaded from the EEPROM on the right side. See the picture below.

Now, for the interesting part. Click on the "Gear + Hand" icon in the top toolbar (see the picture below).

A window will appear.

In this window, go to Start diagnostic session and select "After seals [10C0]". Then, in the Request field, select "DataWrite ($3531) V_Timer_DrivWEP_ON".
IMPORTANT: You need to click on the data field to highlight it, then click the "Execute" button at the bottom. (Thanks to pmaf.iphone). Do not enter any number in the "Value" field - just hit "Execute".
That’s it! Let me know if anything needs clarification.
So I did all that and I get a tiny popup "Python: Data missing from table." I double click on the Value field to put a cursor in it then hit enter and click Execute... nothing happens.

Just for shiggles, I tried entering 0 in the Value field and the whole program crashed with an error "ValueError: invalid literal for int() with base 2: '0bb1000000000000000000000000000000'" (Yes, it's 30 zeroes, I counted.) So I figure it's a binary formatting thing and I try 0bb0. It didn't crash, but it also didn't actually do anything; I went back into DataRead to check and it's the same value.

So... now what.

Does they key need to be on in order to successfully reset the water pump counter to zero.

I followed all the steps but does not seem to write any data to the ecu.

When I open the program, I get an error "no database found" so then i just browse to the .xml file and open it. Something tells me that is not the correct way to do this.

Hello fellow Canadian, I am having the same issue. I’m wondering if you could post a link to the correct adaptor that would work ,also, are you by chance close to the Toronto area thank you.
I ended up ordering this one because it supports 29bit.

I haven't tried it yet but will later today and will update if it works.
