Yes, 4 bolts would do it. They are torx screws; you'll need to buy the right sized socket. Don't remember what size now. Make sure you disconnect the battery before you disconnect the wires underneath the seat.

Thanks Wahi! I've never disconnected the battery before, but if I researched correctly it looks like I just disconnect negative end first, then followed by positive end. Correct?

 

Just disconnect the negative side of the battery. That is all you need to do.

 

I'll bite, What you gonna do? More room?

 

If your removing the seat completely, you will have to unplug the airbag wire and should you hook the battery back up and turn the key before plugging in the air bag wire you will get the fault on the dash and that will require a trip to the dealer to reset.

Don't need to disconnect battery, Just don't turn key on while seat is unplugged. Take key out and put it out of sight.

You don't turn the key on while it is unplugged as it will turn on lights on your dash that only the dealer can reset.....for a fee.

 

I've taken the seats out for a deep cleaning... Very roomey inside with no seats

 

You're probably done by now but when I pull seats out of a smart I put tape over the ignition hole just as a precaution.
