Smart Electric Drive - 3 Spoke steering wheel with paddles wont working

Hello!


I have a 2013 Smart w451 Electric Drive car. It had a 2-spoke steering wheel originally. I bought a 3-spoke pre-facelift steering wheel with F1 paddles on Ebay. I replaced the steering wheel, then activated the paddles using Vediamo and also deactivated the creep mode in the car. The paddles still do not work. I subscribed for help to the Evilution website (evilution co uk/mod/451-paddle-wheel-doesnt-work). Based on the information there, I tried to replace the cables in the car's factory wiring harness. After this the paddles still do not work. My car is post-facelift, the steering wheel I bought is pre-facelift. Swapping the wires (8. and 9. instead of 5. and 10.) would have solved the problem, but it did not work for me. I have no idea. The paddle function activated if i check it in the N127 ECU module with Vediamo (Schaltpadel aktiv/verbaut). I tryed to swap the wires in the main connector (inside the steering wheel, that connect to the steering sensor), but not changing. At least the creep mode is gone, so I do not have to press the brake when the car is stationary. But to be completely happy, I miss the more intense regenerative braking power provided by D+ mode.

Close to right. The SaL function used for Recuperation needs also to be activated in Display KI451.

Path of signals is from Steering wheel to Display KI451 via CCAN to CEPC N127.

in opposite to the speed control. there the routing and path is direct from steering wheel to CEPC N127.

As soon you switch on SaL or Recuperation function in CEPC (N127) you can already send cia CAN (e.g. OVMS) the commands D+,D and D- Mode.
if you activate also brabus mode you will receive a 4. mode. Then you get Ds,D+,D and D-
Ok with brabus you will get overall 5 kW more max power and also with Ds a chanced behavior of the accelerator padel. Means there is no need for kick down to get full acceleration and also the recuperation will max similar to D+Mode.
Never the less the Smart behave and feel totally different.

Thank you for your reply. I try to find the correct cbf file for the KI (instrument cluster) unit to connect with the vediamo and activate the paddle shifr option in the ki unit, but i dont know, what is the correct cbf name for this modul. Can you send the cbf file or the name of this cbf file?
I want to activate the Brabus mode, but cant find any other information to solve this. I think, this method is not a just coding paramether in the cepc unit. The Brabus mode need another file to flash the original cepc unit. My opinion is correct?
Can i activate or reflash my cepc with the Brabus software?

I usualnuse Vediamo to modify
And it should be KI-451.cbf or KI451.cbf

And yes it is possible to reflash it to become a Brabus:)
The CEPC owns 3 level of SW or parts stored in cff files.

The Sloader, the firmware and a fitting parameter set file with tables and limits.
So it is more than just coding. You need to use the right files.

Ok, why you try to go for seed key gen (btw. I build my own for CEPC and BMS)
Which is not necessary.
The unlock command for KI-451 and CEPC are included in the CBF files. Just DJEntriegeln in Ki-451 :)
And for the CEPC it is similar.

So no rocket science only basic coding knowledge of vediamo.
