Yes, and the price is steep but I like the way it looks on the car. I think a paid a bit less (not much) but that was back in April. I can't remember about other charges but you can email them,they respond quickly.

I personally haven't bought anything from them yet however my friend has and had a good experience with them. I've emailed them a couple times and Eddy (the owner I believe) was very helpful.

Can I assume that these will work on the 451 as well as the pictured 450?
Are they attached by tape?
How strong is the attachment? I don't want to use it as a tow hook, but I don't want it to de-attach after a couple of days (or weeks).

 

From Taiwan, a good price but shipping is a killer. If you buy more than 1 item it gets more reasonable.

My Brabus handle came off after about 6 months. When I installed it, I was very careful to make sure the window surface was very clean and primed with the included clean-wipe stuff.

Perhaps, I'll re-attach it some other way. Rear view mirror adhesive did not work: it is meant to attach metal to glass. The Brabus rear hatch handle is plastic, with a rubber adhesive strip. I might try silicon adhesive, or 3M car body panel tape.

I too liked the handle, it looks good and seemed to function well for a while, but the attachment method sucks.

 

If that ever happens we simply take a heat gun (you can use a hair dryer) warm up the old tape, peel it off and then simply replace that with 3M double sided tape. You can pick it up at a Home Depot or Lowe's. This works very well and is a pretty good solution.

I did re-attach the Brabus rear hatch handle with double-sided 3M Super Strength Molding Tape (03609). After removing the old adhesive from the handle, I cleaned all surfaces with 91% isopropyl alcohol, and trimmed to fit...seems to be a very firm bond.

 

the Brabus rear hatch handle remount is still working great with the 3M Super Strength Molding Tape...lasted through the burning hot summer temps and many car washes...

...still super-firmly attached and working great.

 

Whoever is in charge of the Brabus adhesives must have previously worked at the 3M Post-it factory.

I agree...the original adhesive on that handle left a lot to be desired...really crappy, actually...

I liked the idea that I was getting an "official smart product" to trick out my rear hatch...but, after all of the effort and the $$$ to track down the Brabus handle (from Canadian parts dealer), I was mightily disappointed in its lack of effective attachment.

anyway, no problems at all with the new setup, so all is good and I can now report a happy ending...

I have two 450s and two of these handles. One has been firmly attached and working perfectly since it was installed in October of 2008. The other has not. It is very loose and may come off. It has been attached for about 6 months.

The suggestion to use 3M double-sided tape (with the red paper) is genius. That tape works so well. I've used it to tape a few cables out of the way in the interior as well.

 

Looks nice but you can't use it because the adhesive doesn't hold-I cleaned and then used alcohol (which I prolly would have beeen better off drinking!!!) and first time, after curing in the sun for two days, it came off. That pissed me off so bad I ****canned it!!!

 

I think I would have removed the peal and stick stuff and used a different adhesive. Sometimes Alcohol isn't the best solvent if the glass has been treated with a product like RainX. I like toluline, but wear gloves (not rubber); it is absorbed through the skin.

 

It's starting to get chilly (45 F) at night here in the Mojave Desert...we'll see how the 3M adhesive molding tape holds up during the freezing cold...so far the 3M attachmant is still holding strong after a hot sunmmer and many many carwashes...

my re-attached Brabus handle has held up well in 10 degrees F for several days in Amarillo TX and Flagstaff AZ...still super sturdy,

 

im thinking a dab or two of clear Goop, aka silicon.
